The section of essays for me is what makes the book. The letters are interesting, but there is a lot of wisdom to be gained from the essays, in particular I got a lot out of:

Reflections on the the right use of school studies with a view to the love of D-d (great writing on the importance/divinity of attention - lot of parallels with mindfulness/meditation).

The love of G-d and afflictions (great moments relating to suffering and acceptance)

More here than my mind really wanted to absorb. Maybe I'll reread and get more out of it. Ideas: waiting for God ("looking" rather than "searching") (an antidote to habit of faking God), attention.
