What Members Thought

Hawthorne proves himself to be a capable writer of psychological romance. I especially liked the minute descriptions of Hester/Chillingworth/Dimmesdale and their internal conflicts. While some may criticize the pace of the novel I didn't really mind. The prose was often beautiful. The social realism really made it more enjoyable than anything Poe wrote. However what was interesting early in the novel became repetitive by the end. I KNOW THESE CHARACTERS FEEL SHAME AND GUILT NATHAN YOUVE FOUND EV
