I've loved the movie of this book since it first came out, but for some reason never got around to reading the copy of the book I bought immediately afterward. (Blame my freakish book-organization/OCD issues.) Having finally read it for a book club, I can add it to my list of favorite books along with favorite movies. I felt like there could have been a little more plot but that's not a huge complaint on my part. It's still a fun romp (and yes, this is a perfect example of what one might call a "romp.") I remember watching the Kate Beckinsale film adaptation in the 90s and I ...more

Glad I persevered with this. It took me a while, but I think I've finally "got" it, and I ended up enjoying it, once it got to the actual plot. ...more
