What Members Thought

The first half of this book was somewhat of a slog, since it's mostly an introduction to modern linguistics. There were enough interesting anecdotes and references to studies to keep me going, though.
The second half is where The Language Instinct really opens up. I especially liked the chapter on the evolution of language (notably the only topic on which Pinker explicitly disagrees with Chomsky).
