Incredible, darkly compelling read. Cringeworthy moments of childhood on the edge. People can definitely be forced to survive through a lot more than one would think possible.

With all the hype I thought I would read this. I knew it would be similar to My Name is Lucy Barton and I loved that book.
I thought about quitting halfway through but was convinced to stick with it. Was not a huge fan of the book, honestly. The main character, Jennette, has 3 other siblings. Her and her family are constantly doing the “skedaddle” when they have over stayed their welcome in a town.
