A lovely historical novel with layered characters, strong female protagonists, a plot that unfolds like the codes the spies used! I would suggest this book to any adult or older teen...7th & 8th grade advanced/mature readers. The story of Julie and Maddie, a spy and an aviator during WWII will have you laughing at turns (the scene with her fixing the choke on a car was great) and crying for pages. The friendship is deep and the family ties Maddie end sup developing are lovely at the end. A must
