A beautiful graphic novel about being cool, being a friend, and being yourself. The art is really nice, the story is solid, and I wish I could follow them into adulthood. I think the girls would be friends for life. Highly recommend!

I loved the Asian influences throughout including plenty of K-pop references as well as the quirky illustrations of people’s bodies and facial expressions—even the nerdiest student looks super cool. I also loved Moon’s character in her total disregard for everyone else’s opinion of what is cool and what isn’t and her strength throughout her brain tumor ordeal. I also really liked Wang’s take on the typical Chinese family dynamic in helping parents realize the undue pressure they put Super cute!
