This review is sponsored by the Book-hangover Empire of Storms put me in and also by the Pure Shame I felt when I realized I'd forgotten half the plot when I picked EoS up!

I read this book for the second time and I think this will be my last book of 2019. What an amazing ending to an incredible year!

This is my new favorite series!!
I was skeptical at first, but geez I was blown out of the water. It wasn't what I expected at all. Sarah J. Maas loves her characters, and has perfected her writing so the world and descriptions are important and beautiful.
The heroine, Celaena, is one of my new, favorite, female characters. She isn't perfect, and she doesn't try to be. She talks with food in her mouth, she makes funny faces, she has outbursts, and womanly issues. She is also tender, and resilien ...more

I have finally committed to a reread of this series so I can finally read KOA. I might write a more comprehensive review this weekend, I might not. But, I will say, this book didn’t hold up as much as I thought it would. I definitely enjoyed this more my first time reading it. I’ll keep my original rating of 4 stars but after rereading, I would probably give it a 3/3.5.

This is the kind of book I've been waiting for, sure it could have been longer with more detail but I love the main plot! I'm loving the characters and can't wait to see Celaena's past catch up with her in the castle!
Also, I'm not sure if it's just the kindle or also in the printed books, but there were a few grammatical and spelling errors. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but I just think it's really unprofessional in a published book. ...more
