Love this book. Very engaging, held my attention. I loved the 3 women - that it reminded me of the holy trinity. I loved that he uses the 3 main characters of this book as solid, strong, magical and powerful women. Part mythological, the whole story was completely delightful. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

I think this was the first work that I've read that is classified as "fantasy." It reminded me a lot of magical realism but with more fairy tale thrown in. But not your Disney fairy tales, more like your Grimm stories. If you've seen Pan's Labyrinth, this has that sort of visual quality to it but a bit less brutal. I really loved this book.
