I believe that my daughter read this one for Battle of the Books when she was in fifth grade. The story of Meg Murry, her younger brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin who travel in the fifth dimension to another universe in search of her father who has been missing for a couple of years. They are assisted by Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. Some would call them witches but they are so much more than that, intergalactic beings of light.

I read this as a kid more times than I can remember. I loved it! Coming back to it, many years later, it holds up reasonably well to my memories. It was a delight to visit the Murray’s world again. And now that I’ve revisited it, I’m eager to see what Ava Duvernay does with it!
