I actually read all six of the books in this series at the request of my son. The story is a pretty good one - young child loses a parent and finds a gateway into another world. In this world, she is the here - gaining back some of the control that I'm sure she felt she lost. Unfortunately for me, I abhor graphic novels. I struggles through all six books, often losing interest in the stories while looking at the pictures. If you like graphic novels, this was a very engaging story - much like Lord of the Rings or other fantasy-based tales.
