What Members Thought

A letter from a father to a son which totally raised my awareness. I am defined by my white privilege. I thought we had come so far what with a black president who I respect like no other and this book burst my bubble. I have no idea what it is like to be black in this country, to be concerned and afraid about my child just for being black in this racist country. Thank you Mr. Coates for raising my awareness even just this little bit. Everyone should read this book!

This a REMARKABLE book. My perspective is forever changed. I have some understanding of things I didn't understand before, and a bigger awareness of how little I actually understand. Everyone should read this book.
