I loved One Plus One. There is romance, there is a road trip,and there are misunderstandings.
Jess is a single mom of Tanzie a math whiz and Nicky a misfit stepson. She works as a house cleaner and a bartender, barely getting by but maintaining a super positive attitude as the mom who can solve all problems for her kids. She meets Ed a geekie millionaire when she is cleaning his beach apartment and he rudely slams the door in her face. When she see him later at the bar where she works she is tota I loved One Plus One. There is romance, there is a road trip,and there are misunderstandings.

She works as a house cleaner and a bartender, barely getting by but maintaining a super positive attitude as the mom who can solve all problems for her kids. She meets Ed a geekie millionaire when she is cleaning his beach apartment and he rudely slams the door in her face. When she see him later at the bar where she works she is totally filled with distaste for him but she helps him get home when drunk and puts him to bed on his sofa.
Tanzie is given a fantastic opportunity to earn some prize money at a Math Olympiad and Jess is taking Nicky and Tanzie and their dog Norman to Scotland when they are stopped by the police. Ed, with problems of his own, is driving by the police with a pulled over car and recognizes Jess and stops and offers to help. He winds up taking the family with dog on a road trip to Scotland. The trip takes way longer than it should have and multiple misadventures occur. I don't know which was funnier, the farting dog, the barfing child or Ed's illness from eating bad food and the multiple stops that entailed. The Olympiad ends badly and in an attempt to cheer her up Jess has Ed take Tanzie to visit her father who it turns out has been feeding Jess a series of lies as to why he can't help support his kids. While Tanzie and Nicky spend an overnight with their Dad, Jess and Ed's relationship heats up. The family returns home and the hysterical road trip ends.
Then Jess and Ed's relationship comes to a standstill due to a complex misunderstanding. Ed has to deal with his trial for insider trading and his Dad's ongoing illness. Jess has to deal with an attack on Tanzie and a serious accident Norman suffered caused by his love for Tanzie. Nick is able to solve problems with solutions suggested to him by Ed.
So how does it all end up? Another short road trip is involved and the ending is very satisfying!
