Okay, I'll admit it, I checked this out because of the cover. It's a very pretty, creepy cover. The story? Fairly paint by numbers dystopia. Some good moments, but nothing groundbreaking.

Red Queen was an Addicted to YA BOTM for 2015. The story reminds me of a lot of other dystopian YA fiction, but I still felt compelled to read it quickly. Society is divided into two classes -- the privileged, magical Silvers and the common, oft-sent-to-perpetual-war Reds. Red Mare's life changes when she is sent to work for the silver royalty and discovers magic where it shouldn't exist. 2.5 stars. Reds oppressed by silvers like Red Rising, neat. Silvers have abilities like manipulating fire, water or metal or healing, like Shadow and Bone, neat. Heroine that's super special and will help the rebels lead her people out of oppression. It's a typical YA, a fast read, but nothing great.
