Like the other Simone de Beauvoir works I've read, this one started slow and was so seemingly so painfully dense that I considered putting it down. But also like other Simone de Beauvoir works I've read, once you've committed to it, it's worthwhile for its excellent writing and striking insight. For me, the most notable parts were her descriptions of her own thought during childhood, which were refreshing.
