even though i do not consider myself a paulo coelho fan, he's undeniably relevant in the latin american literature arena, therefore i continue to read him. this one, i have to say, has been my favorite. i didn't necessarily like the documentary-type format, and most of what i disliked from his other books is still present here. so many of his characters are prophets, with deep profound answers to life. usually whatever truth i see in them is already pretty universally "known" and just repackaged

I really do enjoy books that have a spiritual or life-lesson message and I feel this book had several of them. This is the second book that I've read of Paulo Coehlo, after reading his famous Alchemist bestseller. His language has a smooth flow to it and personally, it's the first book I've read that has the main character's life been narrated through interviews of different people, so that you never get the main character, Athena's voice directly. But we do get to hear about it and that format
