This is not a terrible book....my mom LOVED it and recommended it to me. Takes place in China in the 1920s in the foreign settlements. I just could NOT get into it and can't put my finger on why except that it is so action packed that it felt melodramatic.
Or maybe if I read it at another time I would enjoy it? Don't know... ...more
