This is me, still attempting to understand poetry. This collection was absolutely fine, clearly stuffed full of raw emotion and arranged on many mostly empty pages. I appreciated quite a few of the stark articulations of intense anguish and love, scraped clean of the pretty circumlocutions of prose. But still, I struggle to understand and appreciate the form, flying through each poem without retaining more than a fleeting impression of each before I'm onto the next, piling one reaction on top of ...more
