I wasn't sure what to think of Strangers in Paradise after finishing the first issue in this volume. It felt like a warped, adult version of Betty & Veronica -- a more palatable R. Crumb with comedically spineless men and strong, full-figured ladies. However, the story takes a big shift in tone and content from issue two as Kachoo's mysterious past is slowly revealed and dudes continue to take a beating. Seriously, the attention to noses in this is fairly disturbing...
