One of the best coming-of-age novels I've ever read. If you're a fan of 'My Mad Fat Diary' you must read this. Heart-breaking, hilarious: it's the perfect balance. I put this up there in the same category as "Colors Insulting to Nature" by Cintra Wilson and "Ghost World" by Daniel Clowes.

A great take on being a fat 15 year old girl who's too smart for her own good and caught up in the 90s Grunge/Riot Grrrl/Brit Pop Music World. Also humbling to see how far we've gone (mostly for the worse) in t ...more

What sets this coming-of-age story apart from so many others, is the unique voice that Moran gives her narrator. The book is fun, relatable, a little sad, and very positive. Glad I read it!
