Where to begin? Krissa lent me The Golden Compass and after finishing it, I couldn't wait to gobble up the rest of the trilogy so I bought this huge thing that I carried with me on the subway for almost a week. I got within two chapters of the end, and then dragged it out very slowly for a few weeks because I loved it so much and didn't want it to end. A beautiful story; one of those worlds that I didn't want to leave. ...more

I couldn't put this book down!! I don't know how to describe it... It was just a really good story, good characters... I broke my cardinal rule, and saw the first movie before I read the first book. The movie was good, but I definitely recommend reading it first! What more can I say? I really loved it!!! ...more
