I wanted to give this three stars, but at the end I had to give it four. Cheryl can write well. I loved the descriptions of the trail and the people she met on her journey. But spare me from her narcissism and total self-absorbtion (redundant I know). Whether she understood it or not, she had a lot of breaks in life-(along with the tough times that she writes about).: brains, beauty and a parent who loved her unconditionally. This type of book either speaks to you or it doesn't. I'm clearly not the intended audience for it, because I found it... annoying. Save yourself the time and read some of Strayed's short essays, which are leagues better.
