This is a cautionary tale, in many ways. I really respected the way that Remy's narration worked. It was not unreliable, but perfectly indicative of her mental state. This wasn't an easy book but it is a book that helps all of us to remember what some girls face just because they are girls, and how that can spiral out of control in a community.

I don't know if "like" is the right word to describe how I feel about this book, but it's really powerful. It seems designed to gut you and/or make you acutely uncomfortable. But, and this might sound weird, it's in a good way. I feel like with the way the subject matter is presented, you shouldn't feel comfortable. That seems to be an impossible feeling for the main character, so why should you be given that luxury. You really get to see things from her perspective, and what she's going through
