I love Allende's writing, and it translates beautifully to audio. There were some passages in this book that actually made me tear up (while driving, no less). In particular, the description of Maya's grandfather's death touched me quite deeply. While this was not my favorite of her books, I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and setting of Chiloe; I learn so much about Chile every time I read one of Allende's books. ...more
