The crafting of the various viewpoints of this novel is fantastically executed. The story of four friends whose lives were all wounded by a manipulative and destructive female friend/enemy is compelling. I love how Atwood explores the nature of female friendship and betrayl without making the woman villian a sexist stereotype. The story is great and the way it is written is brilliant. Read this as a follow-up to Cat's Eye.

Interesting read, my first exposure to her writing. The tone - and plot - are slightly unsettling; but this definitely conveys the uneasy mood of the main characters. Borrowed from Rache, who also recommends "The Edible Me."

Went looking for this book when I went home for Thanksgiving and I'm re-reading it after a long absence. I have the mass-market version, though, which has a slightly different cover.
