I can see why this book gets lower ratings than Atwood's other novels. This is her first book, and I think she hadn't yet found her voice fully. The writing is a little less developed and rich here. One of my favorite aspects of Atwood's novels is her writing style, so I'm not surprised that people are less impressed with this book.

I waver between 3 and 4 stars for this one. It is not as strong as some of Atwood's other books.
