Book 5 of 6 completed of my accidental Austen binge. I have to say that Emma is enormously entertaining. But as I was reading this book a strange realization came over me. After reading Sense & Sensibility, and trying to slog through Mansfield Park, I had almost given up hope that Jane Austen had written anything that could surpass Pride & Prejudice. Emma doesn't quite, but it's in solid second place. Though there are a lot of ridiculous twists and turns in the plot, we are with Emma for the whole of the book and she is a delightful companion. Even though I'm stuck doing a lot of reading for school, this was the one book I would escape with whenever I had a break.
