It took me a few times to get started on this. Not a book to listen to, it's preferable to read it in print.

Once I got my hands on this book, my reading journey improved so much.

It reads more as a folk tale of a world where there are communities who have special gifts, and those gifts are inherited to the next generation. But sometimes, they don't and may skip a generation.

Jumped into it without knowing it was part of a series. This first installment does not reach the levels of Earthsea, but is quite a worthy story. Is a gift you cannot control a gift? How can we choose to make use of our gifts in a constructive way?
