It's been probably 15 years since I read Tamora Pierce's Alanna series. Terrier is also set in Tortall, Pierce's imaginary country, but centuries before those books, but with legends like Beka Cooper, no wonder Alanna dreamed of being a warrior. The book Terrier was very long it started off rather boring, unlike her other books, which I have read. I do have to say though, her putting one of her characters into the work force like that, is a switch. It's a bit different than how she normally writes but it was a good book I look forward to reading the next one.

Do not like the style of these at all. The journal entry and first personing isn't as good as the others. I also don't like Beka Cooper as much as I like Alanna, Daine, and Aly.
