What Members Thought
I thought this book was interesting because Smith delves into the conflicted nature of most people of mixed heritage. She's also rip roaringly funny. If I remember right, the main character is half white, half black and interacts with Muslim twins and a half Jewish, half Catholic family. It's zany and insightful at the same time. I loved this book.

Cross-cultural story of London from 1945 to present. The Iqbal, Jones, Bowden, Chalfeu clans and their interactions.
I really enjoyed this complex interwoven narrative and the themes of post-colonization, religion, nurture/nature, parenting, and gender dynamics. It might even be a 5 but I am grappling with understanding the ending.
Really clever and funny voice, very well paced. I thought the end was a bit rushed, though.
