In this book Nussbaum makes a really compelling case for why Feminism is not a 'western' idea. She demonstrates how in fact, women in the Muslim world and other places have had strands of socially active feminists long before we achieved suffrage for women in the UK. I personally found it very inspiring and it forged my belief that no matter where you are in the world, equality can be achieved.
