This was heartbreaking.
So many things to love about this book. The audio is narrated by Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy)and he makes a heart-breaking story even more poignant. Having lost one of the most important people to cancer myself, Connor's story touched my heart and captured the truth.

Incredibly powerful. Perfectly written. Hands down one of the top five books I've read not just all year, but in recent memory. But why is it YA? Plenty of sad books are still considered middle grade? Is it just that the main character is older?

Beautifully written, poignant, real, sad, uplifting, and inspiring. This was a modern-day fairy tale with a message that both adults and children can relate to.
A heartbreakingly and beautifully told story. I recommend the illustrated version that brings the monster to life.
This book....tore my heart out from my ribcage, smashed it to pieces and danced on the shards. :.(
