What Members Thought

This book certainly won't be for everyone. It has realistic, terrible mature content, and may be triggering or traumatic. People may argue that Hermione's experience isn't representative of everyone else's (which the author addresses in the Author's Note). Some people won't like the political implications. But it's a Canadian book, so we can just brush those off, right?

I listened to this book and the narration was great and the plot moved fast enough to keep the action moving. I was very glad to see that rape and a rape victim were treated in a new way from many teen books I've read. Hermione is put together and thoughtful and has great friends. But sometimes she's too thoughtful and recovery steps not only come so easily, but she thinks about them with the reflective nature of someone much older.
