What Members Thought

Thought provoking exploration of the age-old idea that power corrupts, even when it transfers hands to the once marginalized, in this case the female population. Taking a zoomed-out view of the global shift, the book follows a handful of main characters who navigate the change. It was far more ambiguous a message than I expected, but thoughtfully and responsibly so.

3.5 stars.

I was enjoying it for the first 100 pages or so. It became a chore after that. None of the characters were very well-developed to the point that it was kind of difficult to even remember who was who because they were all pretty similar. If you want to read a new book riding the coattails of The Handmaid's Tale hype, I suggest Red Clocks instead by Leni Zumas.
