Mary Beard is just so intelligent, so articulate, I want to listen to her explain things to me all the time. Her area of expertise is Antiquity (note the capital): Ancient Rome and Greece, classical studies if you will, and since I know only the barest outlines about that period of time, she can pretty much tell me whatever she knows and I’ll lap it up.
