Kitty is a werewolf radio alternative music host on late night public radio show. She stays off the main grid until, she starts letting her otherness drift into her radio show and becomes a public celebrity as a werewolf. Her pack, the local vampires and some religious factions are not pleased about her coming out and opening that whole can of worms. Kitty is a werewolf, but she's also the host of a late night radio show. She won't play any songs released after 89, so don't ask her. Supernatural beings are still new to coming out and she's one of the first to be outed, after a hunter attempts to take her down on air. Because of her knowledge and of what she is she's asked to help the police investigate a few homicides that up until now would have been chalked up to wild life.

I re-read this book as I want to read the whole of the series and couldn't totally remember what happened in it.

Kitty Norville is a DJ on a local midnight radio station, who also happens to be a werewolf. She's quite a submissive wolf, very low down in the pack, but she soon starts to get peed off at how things are working in the pack. I tried to read this a few years ago and wound up DNF'ing it. I had just finished a Patricia Briggs Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs binge of the series, so Kitty just couldn't hold a candle to Mercy. I was about 1/4 into it when I just couldn't read anymore of the super submissive act. Presently I am in a huge book slump and am rereading favorites and trying new things. I saw I had DNF this and decided to give kitty another shot.
Happily Kitty does get a spine. There were some portions of this book that I would have wish
