I will be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I went in only knowing what the book was about, I have never even seen the movie. But I wasn't expecting this book to feel a little more modern. With the exception of some of the obvious tells of the time. Like drinking while pregnant. I thought this was pretty progressive for a horror book written in the 1960s and it kept me interested throughout. ...more

This book is the original horror novel, written in the 60s, before horror became a thing. It starts out ordinarily enough with a young couple, Rosemary and Guy, who have an opportunity to move into a historic apartment building. They manage to get out of the lease they signed and take up residence in the historic Bram, which they found out from a friend has a less than ideal history. When they meet one of the older couples that reside there, strange things start happening in their life.
