I am so far behind the curve on this one, so my blurb is half hearted... Alex gets pulled into a plot that involves mages trying to harvest magic from magical creatures and on the side he's trying to train Luna but their master/apprentice relationship isn't working out so well.

I did this kindle/audible mix but mostly as audio, so I am not sure how the pacing for the book works in print. But as a listen it has that pool-drop feel to use a white water rating analogy - so it floats along for a bit

I am someone that mostly reads paranormal romance books. So the fact that I enjoy this book, with no romance, really says something. I love the world that has been created for this series. Alex Verus is very likable and you always want to see him succeed. The author even made me feel sympathy for a giant spider. A spider! I can't wait to read on in this series. ...more
