Shelves: contemporary-fiction, mystery, not-a-happy-ending-kind-of-book, now-a-movie

Wow..it took me forever to actually finish the is book!! And it was not because it was a bad book, just had alot going on.
I really enjoyed "Gone Girl" and would love to read more by Gillian Flynn.
I just can't believe the outcome and how actually twisted Nick and Amy's marriage was. I also can't believe what type of person Amy was was, which is what kept me riveted in reading it.
I definetely would have liked the book to end in another way..won't say why cause that would be a big spoiler, it ju ...more

I wanted to read this before all the movie hype and I am so glad that I did.

I think the best thing to say about this book is that it has been out for a while, countless of my friends have read it, and no one has spilled the beans. I loved this book. All I can say is wow. Or, as the title of this review, holy s***!

I would be open to trying this again someday. After several failed attempts to really *get into* this story, I've decided to shelve it due to lack of motivation on my part. I unfortunately was spoiled for the ending of this book a long time ago, which has made it difficult for me to care enough to finish it. So, note to future self: NO spoilers. Ever.
I did gain an appreciation for Gillian Flynn's writing, however, so I would be interested in picking up her other novels when I am feeling in the ...more
