I’m surprised to find the Arcadia Bell series slipping into obscurity given that I’ve probably it at least five times. Originally published from 2011-2014, it features Arcadia (Cady), a magician turned bar-owner, who reluctantly teams up with an Earthbound demon, Lon Butler, to prove her parents aren't serial murderers. Mysteries are solved, romance (and sex magic!) ensues.

The series did always only have fair to middling reviews (3.77??) and, to be fair, perhaps the mystery was a bit trite. But

I wasn't quite sure what to expect of this book. I never am when it comes to new authors, but I loved it! Arcadia Bell is a magician and part owner of a bar, who uses her magic to keep her customers calm. But Arcadia has a big secret - a huge secret that only a few other people in the world really know! Since book three just came out, I thought it was about time to do a "choose it or lose it" to clean the first two books of the series off the DTB book pile one way or another. I had high hopes going in since others have really liked the Arcadia Bell series and I had read the short Leashing the Tempest - which was enjoyable and stood alone fairly well. So I am happy to say that I liked Kindling the Moon.
