I wasn’t a warrior like the other kids at Mythos, not exactly, but I wasn’t completely without skills either. I was a Gypsy, a person gifted with magic by one of the gods. In my case, that magic was psychometry, or the ability to touch an object and immediately know, see, and feel its history.

Everything she’d been thinking, feeling, and experiencing when she’d been wearing that bracelet or reading that book. Sometimes, everything she’d ever felt, seen, or done over a whole lifetime, if her attachment to the object was strong enough. I could tell if a person had been happy or sad, good or bad, smart or dumb, or a thousand other things.

My magic let me know people’s secrets—let me see and feel all the things they kept hidden from others and even from themselves sometimes. All their conflicting emotions, all the sly things they’d done, all the things they only dreamed about doing in the deepest, blackest parts of their hearts.

Maybe it was dark and twisted of me, but I liked knowing other people’s secrets. I liked the power that the knowledge gave me, especially since I didn’t have any of the wicked cool fighting skills the other kids at Mythos did. Knowing other people’s secrets was sort of an obsession of mine—one that had almost led to me getting killed a few weeks ago.

It was also the reason I held on to Oliver’s notebook now. I’d totally expected the boredom and the frustration I’d sensed. Those were both emotions I’d felt many times before when I’d touched other kids’ notebooks, computers, pens, and all the other ordinary everyday objects they used to help them do their schoolwork.

But that warm, soft, fizzy feeling? Not so much. I knew what it was, though—love. Or at least like—serious like. Oliver Hector had a major, major crush on someone, enough to write about that person in his notebook, and I wanted to know who it was.

I liked the first one a lot but I loved this one and I get that it's for young adults but I'm young & I'm an adult sooooo.... Besides it doesn't matter if you are young or old we all go through upsetting life-changing events, we all go through that awkward phase of trying to figure where we belong, we all go through the miscommunication, misinterpretation, misguided, & total heartbreak of thinking that the one we love doesn't love us back and this book has it all...Besides I'm not ashamed to adm ...more

The second installment of the Mythos Academy series, Kiss of Frost was just as great a read as the first. Maybe even better. Things aren't getting any easier for Gwen as the story picks up. Full of mystery, adventure, mishaps and one major crush, I was pulled into the story fast and I was unable to put it down for anything.

I liked the setting in this. The ski lodge was fun. Throwing Gwen into situations that she didn't really want. Like, learning how to ski. Oh, and also that there is someone ou ...more

Jag blir alltid så förvånad när andra boken i en serie är bättre än första boken. Jag vet vad det är med mig men jag har fått för mig att andra boken alltid ska vara den sämsta boken i serie och de nästan aldrig kan nå upp till samma nivå som första. Men inte när det kommer till den här boken, Kiss of Frost är snäppet bättre än Touch of Frost. Men det är inte står skillnad för jag avgudar båda böckerna. Det här är helt klart en ny favoritserie!

Jag vet vad det är med mig men jag har fått för mig att andra boken alltid ska vara den sämsta boken i serie och de nästan aldrig kan nå upp till samma nivå som första. Men inte när det kommer till den här boken, Kiss of Frost är snäppet bättre än Touch of Frost. Men det är inte står skillnad för jag avgudar båda böckerna. Det här är helt klart en ny favoritserie!

Jag fastnade från första sidan och ville verkligen inte lägga ifrån mig boken. Dock hände samma sak som hände i första boken att jag började läsa den på helt fel tillfälle när jag var tvungen att göra något viktigt och kunde därför inte läsa - vilket jag verkligen inte gillade. Ville ju bara läsa! Fast när man äntligen hade tid och läsa så flög bara sidorna fram och det hjälper väldigt mycket att är att takten är hela tiden på topp, inte en lugn stund en enda gång.

Jag är riktigt förtjust i karaktärerna och Gwen växer i mina ögon mer och mer från varje sida. Hon är jätte charmig och riktig (alltså inte så fejk som en del kan vara) men något jag gillar riktigt mycket är att hon blir bara starkare och smartare hela tiden. Fast det kan vara lite irriterande hur lång tid det tar för henne att lista ut vem som är den onda, är ganska uppenbart för alla utom henne.
Men någon som jag tycker om mer än Gwen är nog Logan. Jag har en liten crush på honom men han är bara för underbar och charmig (och het). Är så glad över att det äntligen börjar hända saker mellan honom och Gwen. (view spoiler)

Dock blev jag lite besviken hur förutsebar boken var. Visste redan från början när man träffade honom att han var en badguy men på något sätt så gjorde det inte så mycket, boken var så pass spännande att man inte tänkte så mycket på det.
Kommer helt klart slänga mig över nästa del i serien så snart jag kan! ...more
