4.5 Loved it. it was so different form the norm out there. I did not expect to really like this book after reading the cover blurb. It is not a book for everyone, it is dark and has a sharp edge. The Raven Boys took me to another world filled with danger, mysteries, magic and a slight touch of romance. This author has a gift of creating characters that I can't help myself from relating too and struggling along with them. I can't wait for the next book. I need it know but, I have to wait. Cliff

Probably more like 3.5 stars because the beginning is very slow. I did like this, I liked the Blue a lot and her relationship with her oddball all female family of psychics is good. I also like how she handles the raven boys a meshes into their dysfunctional little group. The story is more of a meandering one but it gets a boost from that twist near the end.

What total fun!
There's magic, supernatural powers, a love triangle (because where would we be without one, right?), some history thrown in for good measure, and mysterious secrets, possibly murderous ones. Add it all up and you get a really fun read!
It feels like Stiefvater is really coming into her own with this series. I feel that the Shiver trilogy was good, but this is really good. It could definitely be the mystical/historical piece that's got my attention so fully.

4.5/5. Maaaay end up being 5/5 after I think on it a bit more.
This book contains all sorts of paranormal awesomeness. It also gave me lots of feels.
I very much understand now why so many people are in love with these characters. Now I am, too.
On to book 2!
