Another funny installment to this paranormal romance series about a group of witches banished from the Witches Council a few hundred years ago. We're back with Blair and Stasi in this one in their little mountain town of Moonstone Lake and Agnes, the mayor's wife, is organising the annual Winter festival, roping everyone in when they don't really want to be involved.

The first meeting for the festival starts the ball rolling with all the trouble that is going to pile up on top of the witches. The first meeting for the festival starts the ball rolling with all the trouble that is going to pile up on top of the witches. Roan Thorpe is the new owner of the ski resort and happens to be a werewolf. Even stranger than that, he also happens to be Jake's brother. Jake is Blair's love interest, but he's not a wolf: he's a Border Collie in his furry form and one who Blair desperately lusts after. Jake lusts after Blair too, but knows that they are too different a species to make a proper go of their relationship. Blair, being the feisty witch she is, won't let that stand in the way of getting her man. Roan's pack is quite aggressive - they want to buy all the available land in the town for their pack grounds and want Blair and Stasi's land too, but there's no way they are letting it go. The fight for the land begins with some very desperate action from Roan and some great stand offs between him and Blair.

I love the romance between Blair and Jake and was so glad she was not going to give up on getting her man. He was a bit more reluctant but soon realised that his heart knew what he really wanted and gave in to it. My only issue between them was the after sex action. So many times they had sex, for one of them to get up almost instantly, get dressed and go off somewhere else. It just didn't feel like the romantic element in the aftermath of all the heated sex was there.

As always Fluff and Puff were brilliant, but this time as a tattoo. I just wished they could caused more trouble for Roan and his pack, although they did come in handy with the dog collar.

Loved the idea of the bad elves as well and the way Agnes dealt with them was fab. Who would have thought a big batch of lasagne could change these rowdy, rude, obnoxious elves into clean, polite, helpful ones?!

My real let down with this book was the ending. The fight between Jake and Roan was what I expected, but I didn't expect Eurydice to turn up and basically save the day. I think it should have still been down to Blair and Jake to do that, rather than some other powerful witch doing it for them.

I do love this light-hearted, funny series and can't wait to read the next one! ...more
