Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) in Vampires, Weres and Fae!

I found myself laughing out loud at many lines from this author. The first half of the book I was yucking it up often but towards the second half the fun started to get a bit stale. Some of the jokes just went on too long. Like the stabs at 'Dick." Then there was the Hot Hot Hot moment of sexual tension, then splash cold water in the face. Geesh talk about dragging it out. The main character is a LIbrarian. Jane, who's gone three years without sex and says- "Let's see. the last guy I dated-is th I found myself laughing out loud at many lines from this author. It went from 4 stars to three because of the story drag I felt when I read it.
What really irked me-Jane, i went from laughing with her to wanting to slap her for some of the choices she made. It takes her a while to develop a back bone. I screamed inside with frustration at her slow take down of a certain hottie. Her acceptance of anything anyone told her ? Gullible much ? Her total stupidity when she chose not to inform anyone of threats against her ?!?!?!?!? Oh, come on, this got me angry, who is that stupid ? Yes, that passes and the character redeems herself. That didn't stop me from thinking 'brainless twit' several times. The brief sexual scene, awkward after moment.
What I liked- jane started out smart, independent and well read. I always love the well read ones. I like Gabriel, although we didn't get much of him in this book. Dick was a decent jerk character. Jeb was the obnoxious friend you love to send to phone mail.
It was a good read but I'm not sure I want to go on with the series. It could be first book in a series doldrums It just did not leave me wanting more. So i don't know if I will continue
Main Characters-
Dick-There were a lot of jokes about Dick Cheney, you can imagine what they would be I'm sure. He is the local bad boy casanova vampire, who loves to piss off Gabriel Jane's maker.
Gabriel- and old vampire who saves Jane's life after a drunken moment with a loaded gun ends her heart beating life. He is and old fashioned gentleman who has manners and practices them.
Jeb-Best friend since first grade- Platonic friendship only. He is one funny friend.
Jane- Librarian who has little sexual experience, and what she had was weird. She has a crazy mother, a manipulative sister, a ghostly aunt, and can be the most frustrating character. ...more

This was my first Molly Harper book and I have to say I think I am hooked. How can you not love Jane...she is quirky, snarkey and makes you laugh.
