I didn’t like this book but maybe I like mysteries and thrillers and crime novels less then I thought. This reminded me of the witch elm by tana French, which she published later. I didn’t like the time jumps. I found them disjointed. It also reminded me of the 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn hardcastle. It also kind of reminded me of the Netflix show dark.

Will need to revisit this. I wasn't wowed, so I feel like I'm missing something. ...more

This books showed up on quite a few lists so I expected it to be more thriller-ish than what I got. It’s a good premise and decent story but up until the third act the pacing is rather slow and then it takes off at a good clip. Two of the twists surprised me which is usually hard to do. But the rest of the twists were very passively delivered. So and so telling the MC a thing rather than the MC working through a good conflict to get the info.

I hovered between giving this 3 stars and 4 stars, it's probably more of a 3.5 star read for me but I feel like rounding it up to 4 gives it too much credit. I did like the book but the twists were not that surprising and I still have lots of questions that weren't answered. ...more

This was very disturbing and I don't believe that I would recommend it to anyone.
Practically every single character in this book is mentally unstable, some to the point of being seriously deranged!
