I didn’t find this nearly as exciting or thrilling as I thought it would be.

This book was really well written and I was surprised to find that the author used the real names from history with the exception of one. I think most people know what you are talking about if you mention Donner party. I am one of those, even though I had never read anything about it and it obviously wasn't taught in schools when I was school age. I assume it probably still isn't because of subject matter.
