This book is about a College Student named Richard who moves from California to go to school in Vermont to get as far as possible away from his unbelievably cold and uncaring parents. Once there he enrolls in a small and elite Greek Class that will forever change his life.

I can’t believe I didn’t rate this when I read it years ago.
Maybe because my feelings weren’t as clear as they were after The Goldfinch (a solid 5/5) and My Little Friend (4.5ish/5).
Here’s the two things that still I remember clearly-
1. Feeling frustrated not fully understanding the group school chatter/references.
2. Henry gave me CHILLS. Antagonist level: Gold.
(I was so creeped out!)

This book was ..... weird. A good weird but weird none the less. It stuck with me and made me think. It kept me guessing and I couldn’t wait to get back to it. Loved it! Weird but loved it!!!!

I DNF'd this. It's very well written so I see why critics and most readers enjoyed it. But the story is tediously told (if that makes any sense).

This is a non-thrilling thriller. We're told at the beginning what happened so there's no suspense, and I just don't care enough to read through all the blah-blah-blah to see how we got there. If it was 300 pages I could push through it, but it's over 550 and I just don't have it in me right now endure this.
