The characters development in this series is *chef kiss*

After where the last book left off I was unsure going into this one but I loved where the story went. This installment brings us to the country side to get Peter away from his depressed self in London. He leaves to go see an old colleague of Nightingale's which was fascinating on its own. I loved getting to know more about what happened in the before times. There are also two missing children to contend with and a possible supernatural involvement in their disappearances.

Best one yet
This one is all about Peter. I know all the stories are but this one is more about him. You feel for him and can understand the pain he feels after being betrayed. His relationship with Beverly has blossomed. The story has just the right amount of romance. Not much time is spent on it but enough that informs you of his and others thinking.
