Shelves: enjoyed-quite-a-bit, 3-5-rounded-to-4, mystery, western

Things I liked about the book:
1. the MC is normal guy and not a raging alcoholic, which seems to be the standard in these Western Mystery novels.
He is coming out of the grip of deep grief and depression from his wife's passing. He smart but not too smart. He's not full of wise cracks.
2. The narrator was awesome. He has a gravelly melodic voice that fits Walt. I know it's not part of the book as such, but his voice and delivery are so nice it had to be #2.

Shelves: favorites, own, mystery, thriller

About a year ago I became hooked on the now popular television show Longmire based on these amazing novels by Craig Johnson. While wandering around in Walmart a week ago I saw this book on the shelf and decided well since I'm such an avid reader and I love the show so much, what not give the real thing a try? 3/3/23: This time I decided to read this book by audio and it was so much fun. The narrator George Guidall was amazing. I had forgotten the humor completely but it charmed me. The writing is on the simple side which makes it perfect for the audiobook experience. The storytelling was fun and I love all of the characters. I am excited to continue the series.
