Savage Run was a really good thriller. I enjoy the fact that author CJ Box is pretty even-handed in his contempt for both environmental extremists and "the people on the other side" of the fence-trophy hunters and the like. Game Warden Joe Pickett is somewhere in the middle and that is one of the reasons I like him-Pickett is a family man not a sleuth but he has integrity. He is definitely a mortal and fallible person. Exciting climax even if you can see it coming. ...more
